Richard wanted to surprise his wife with a 6th anniversary portrait session. The couple had flown in from Canada this morning and after checking into their hotel, grabbing a quick bite and taking in 7 innings of the Cubs VS Cardinals at Wrigley Field (St. Louis 0 – Chicago 5), we met at my studio and walked around Chicago’s beautiful lakefront capturing photos all afternoon. Little did either of us know when we scheduled the session that we’d be experiencing one of the hottest days on record in Chicago. Temperatures reached a steamy 94 degrees with humidity levels making it feel well over 100°. The session was called early due to severe thunderstorms that rolled through the area about 6:30 which worked out great as Melissa and Richard had evening dinner reservations and all of us were dirty from having fun playing and sweating at the beach. Here’s a few of my favorite highlights from today. A very special Happy Anniversary, Richard & Melissa.
